Jungle Trekking 3 Days 2 Night

NOTE :
If you want to do private trekking, you are required to pay for 2 people. If you are a solo traveler or a couple and do not want, or are not able to pay the price for 2 people, we can arrange for you to join with other groups.

OPTIONAL: TUBE RAFTING
You can return to the village with what we call the ‘tubing’. The river will bring you back while sitting in the big tube. White water rafting is a fun and exciting way to end your tour through the jungle.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

We at Sumatra Orangutan Bukit Lawang Treks provide airport shuttle services to Bukit Lawang. To pick you up from the airport to Bukit Lawang, we rent a car for IDR 450,000. Once you arrive, our driver will wait for you at the arrival gate, showing your name for easy identification. If you are more than 3 people, transportation is free of charge. Travel time ranges from 4-5 hours with stops at the toilet or for lunch on the way.

You will start this short trek after breakfast, around 8:30am. Your guide will take you on a three-hour walk into the Gunung Leuser National Park. You will be able to spot semi-wild orangutans, macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, gibbons…and you will get a glimpse of our beautiful jungle.

The first introduction to Gunung Leuser National Park for time-limited travelers. With trekking which starts at 09.00 am from the Sumatra Orangutan Bukit Lawang Treks Guest Inn, Bukit Lawang and will end at 13.00 pm at the latest.

For tours whose time is limited and who are unable to make physical efforts, we recommend a 4 hour tour. But you also still have the opportunity to see orangutans.

During entering the National Park, it is expected to follow the guide’s rules, namely not to feed and touch wildlife, listen to directions from the guide, keep a distance from wildlife, and are not allowed to leave trash in the forest.

You’ll be back around after lunch. We will serve you a fresh and delicious local lunch in the jungle and you can choose to walk back to the guesthouse or return by rafting down the river.

TRIP DESCRIPTION:

The trekking trip will start at 09.00 am from the Sumatra Orangutan Bukit Lawang Treks Guest Inn, Bukit Lawang and will end no later than 15.00 pm on the 5th day.

When entering the National Park, you are expected to follow the directions of the guide.

During entering the National Park, it is expected not to feed, touch wild animals in the forest, keep a distance from wild animals and do not throw or leave trash in the forest.

DAY 1

You travel by hike for about 2-3 hours every morning and evening with rest and lunch. Then, continue to look for wildlife by passing beautiful places in the rain forest such as hidden waterfalls and natural ponds that will be guided by a tour guide.

In the afternoon on day 1, you will arrive at the camp near the river. There you can swim in the fresh and clear river water while relaxing and enjoying a cup of drink. In the meantime, our team will prepare a campsite for a night’s rest and dinner in the forest accompanied by an open bonfire.

Dinner dishes are fresh and delicious local Indonesian food during the trip. Enjoy a night at the jungle camp playing cards, or singing around the campfire. Or another option is to just relax enjoying the beauty of the stars and the sounds of the forest at night.

DAY 2

Entering the 2nd day there is something special because you will be awakened by the sound of birds, insects, monkeys and other animals.

After breakfast you will start trekking day 2 in the National Park. Trekking day 2 will be similar to day 1. Enjoy beautiful scenery along the way such as waterfalls, old forest trees, clear streams), as well as lunch break in the middle of the forest.

At night, you will spend the night at a different campsite. Where you can see monkeys in the river, see lizards crossing the campsite or other animals. And there are still many amazing journeys like the Leuser Ecosystem.

DAY 3

After two nights in the jungle you feel like a true adventurer. in the morning you enjoy breakfast in the tent and after breakfast you will start the third trekking for four to six hours. You will continue your journey while seeing plants and animals that you have never seen while on the trip. After that you stop to enjoy lunch and eat fruit that has been prepared by our staff. After eating we can continue to see several types of animals hiding in the forest, such as Sumatran orangutans, long-tailed monkeys, Thomas leaf monkeys, wild boars, peacocks, squirrels, monitor lizards, and many other types of animals. Continue walking towards the new camping location, you can rest and swim in the river. in the evening we also enjoy dinner, drink coffee, tea, which has been prepared by our staff while enjoying the bonfire, or we can arrange trekking at night for a few hours. You will have more opportunities to see several types of animals that we have not seen during the day, such as snakes and other animals.
